Leo is an 8-9y/o vision-impaired male pug with multiple nasty-looking skin tags and tumors. Leo is such a sweet older fellow, we really want to have them all removed and biopsied. But we're looking at a very hefty bill to take care of this. Like all mill survivors, Leo's dental condition is deplorable, too. Leo will be a very difficult placement, but we want him to have a chance at pethood one day.

Buddy Boy is a 2y/o blind fawn pug who was dumped in a rural shelter. A woman looking for her own missing pug saw him and called us. Buddy Boy is as sweet as the day is long. He hasn't a mean or angry bone in his entire body. Buddy Boy loves attention and is doing well at housetraining, too. He adores other dogs, and follows voices amazingly well, leading us to believe he has been blind since birth or shortly thereafter.Linus is an 8y/o puppymill survivor with a deep fear of humans.

Linus came in with numerous growths that will need to be surgically removed, systemic infection from rotten teeth, and an eye injury. Linus is breaking our hearts - he runs whenever we come near him. Linus will need a lot of help, both medically and emotionally

Rocky is an 8y/o puppymill survivor with terrible teeth and little eyesight remaining. Rocky is  a prisoner of human greed in the worst way. He has been used for breeding all his life, and that's all he knows. Once Rocky has his dental and neuter done, and the hormones have left the building, we'll be working to teach him about pethood and the proper way to relate to other pugs. A sponsor would help us get on the stick with Rocky's rehabilitation

We cannot imagine what Penny's life must have been like. She is terrified of everything - us, the other dogs at the rescue house...there's no place Penny is comfortable.  Penny hugs the floor most of the time. Penny is only about 2y/o. She was picked up from a rural shelter, we have no history on her at all. Penny sometimes tries to bite when she is especially frightened. Working with fear-biters is always a longterm endeavor, but we think have a pretty good chance of reaching Penny. Penny needs a cherry eye repair and a spay. Then begins the long journey that, we hope, will end in a happy home. We'd like someone to sponsor her veterinary care so we can proceed with the emotional repair.

Daddy is splendid 22#, 12y/o black pug whose owner is homeless and could no longer keep him. Daddy was quiet when he first came to IMR. Now he dances and howls (yes, HOWLS) at dinner and treat times! We adore this old man and, although we'd like to see him in a permanent home with other pugs, it's okay with us if he never goes anywhere. Daddy has some fatty cysts which have been aspirated by our vet and cause him no problems, and has had a complete dental done.

Tucker and Tanner These little 3 year old chugs (pug/chi) are the cutest little things.  They are full of energy but have the sweet loving side of the pug.  They are pretty small 15-18 pounds.  They are brothers and have been together all their lives.  They are full vetted and healthy.

Chip is an 8-10y/o pug who was dropped off with Millie to be euthanized. Chip is bright, friendly and active. Unlike his former owners, the shelter staff did not have the heart to kill Chip, so they called us. Chip has a big problem - he has a collapsing trachea. His remaining lifetime could be long with the right care and medications, or it could be short. Because of this, he's not adoptable, We'll start him on the necessary meds, but will not do any surgery on him if we can avoid it, as this would require intubation and further irritation to his delicate trachea. The best we can hope for is a buddy to help with his medications, and a pug angel to offer he and Millie a quiet place to finish out their lives

Millie. We were told Millie is 10y/o. On her records, it says 8y/o Millie's tail still wags, and we have her on a diet to help We hope to help her achieve a better quality of living in her old age, but Millie is not adoptable. Any pug angels out there who wish to help an old lady

Jasper is a dear 4 year old boy.  He was tied to a tree in his owners backyard.  He seems to be in good health but we will get him to the vet and make sure.  He is very sweet and very grateful to be inside with loving people and pugs.  Of course he is great with all people and pugs.  A special boy that would make a great addition to a mature pug loving home.

Presley is a 7y/o, 18# light fawn pug who was confiscated from a rural MO county in a cruelty investigation. Presley is very fortunate that a trainer chose to foster him and help him get over his food-deprivation issues. Presley has done very well, and has become a loving, social pug. His new family should be willing to adhere to the techniques used to rehabilitate Presley, including making him "sit" before eating and having him dine alone in a quiet area. He is about 90% housetrained and just needs a tiny bit of reinforcement. Presley is a great pug and will make a wonderful companion for the right home. Adults only, please. Pug experience and training experience required.

Flossie is a petite 12# fawn pug born10/27/2006. Flossie was a puppymill survivor who ended up in a neglect situation with a bad "rescue". Lucky for her, our friends at the Humane Society of Missouri legally confiscated her and sent her to us ("Thank you!"). Flossie has a lovely underbite which results in a stunning smile. Like all pugs, she loves being with humans. Flossie is active and loves soft squeaky toys. Like all puppymill survivors, she will need gentle patience with housetraining.

Yoshi came for the shelter. She is 80% pug and I think 20% peke. She is very sweet and very shy. She needs to gain some weight but appears to be in good health otherwise. She is good with other dogs and all people. She is an adorable little girl and will do best with a quiet calm environment.  She is guessed to be about 5 years old by the vet.

Ike is a darling little 3-4 year old boy.  He was rescued from a puppymill.  He has had all of his vet work done and is in good health.  He is a little shy but warms up with a little love.  He would do best with other pugs around and a quiet home.

Chloe is a beautiful 2 year old girl that will have a happy ending.  She has been in a puppymill but it went out of business YAY!!!  She is good with other dogs and children and all humans.  She is a little shy at first but will warm up nicely and will be forever be grateful for her happy ending.

Sammy is an adorable 2 year old social boy that came from the same puppymill as Chloe and Shyla.  He is playful and loving.  He has been neutered and working on house training.  A perfect boy he is and will also be forever grateful for his happy ending.

Shyla is a petite little shy girl that came from the same puppymill as Chloe and Sammy.  She is very sweet but very shy at first.  She is warming up though and loving life.  Another doll baby that is already forever grateful for her happy ending.

Spunky girl came from the same puppymill as Chloe, Sammy and Shyla,  she is 2 and full of herself.  She would love to have a young pug playmate.  She is a sweet girl and is ready to show someone how grateful she is for her happy ending.
